NB – NOTE IN FINAL DETAILS RE MAZE!! Some of the hedges making up the Maze are in poor condition. Any existing gaps in the hedge, even if not mapped, can be crossed – this is normally against BOF rules and applies to this event only. It is due to very recent trimming back of the hedge by the local council. Do NOT cross any intact sections of hedge, lest you cause damage.

BORDER LINERS invite you to chase away your winter blues in
CARLISLE URBAN ORIENTEERING RACES starting in CARLISLE CITY CENTRE
ONE OF THE NOPESPORT LEAGUE SERIES FOR 2010
INCLUDES A LOCAL TEAM COMPETITION FOR NEWCOMERS
Historic Carlisle, with its Castle and Cathedral, has a pedestrianised city centre, spacious riverside parkland (to accommodate smaller floods!!!) and for non-orienteers modern shopping facilities.
It is strategically placed approximately half way between Land’s End and John O’Groats, turn off the M6 at Jcts 42 – 44. Carlisle City is well served by the Main West Coast Railway Line – Glasgow to London, Northern Rail from Newcastle and Coach links with numerous major cities throughout the country, courtesy of National Express as well as Stagecoach services throughout Cumbria (they now have cumfy seats and engines).
Why not make a weekend of it with a quick spin down the motorway to Farleton Fell near Carnforth on Sunday 7th February for SROC’s Tim Watkins Blodslitet Long Distance Event
